Secara keseluruhannya, intipati kedua-dua pameran buku ini nampaknya tidak secocok dengan namanya. Pameran yang bergelar pameran antarabangsa tidak cukup piawai antarabangsanya; yang menganjurkan pameran luar negara pula, penerbit luar negara yang berwibawa tidak hadir, sehinggakan kita terpaksa bertanya di manakah wujudnya penukaran fikiran antarabangsa? Apa yang dikesali ialah penyertaan penerbit-penerbit bahasa Cina tempatan dalam kedua-dua pameran buku ini amat tidak menggalakkan. Mereka sesungguhnya kehilangan peluang bertindak secara proaktif. Akhirnya pasaran buku-buku bahasa Cina tempatan terpaksa menantikan penerokaan oleh ejen-ejen buku. Oleh Johnny Seah
